Lawyer for Kari Lake suspended 60 days for lying [1]

He’s already been fined by the Arizona Supreme Court for his bonkers claim that a ballot processing firm added nearly 36,000 ballots to the 2022 election—the gubernatorial race Kari Lake lost to Katie Hobbs by about 17,000 votes. (No, there’s no evidence to support the 36,000 ballot claim.) Today a court handed down another ruling—a 60-day suspension during which Bryan Blehm, one of Lake’s looniest lawyers, will not be able to practice. After the suspension, he’ll be on probation for a year, and he has to complete a program in ethics and personal responsibility. Ha! I hope it’s a very long training!

An attorney who represented Kari Lake in her lawsuit to overturn her defeat in Arizona's 2022 gubernatorial election will be barred from practicing law for 60 days for lying in the case, a Friday court order says.

Lake’s got more legal shit to worry about as she runs for US Senate against Ruben Gallego. She still hasn’t conceded the 2022 loss to Hobbs, even though her motions and appeals have been tossed out of at least three courts. One lawsuit that wasn’t tossed, however, was Stephen Richer’s defamation case against her, which is moving ahead.

After her 2022 loss, Lake often blamed Richer, the Republican Recorder of Maricopa County, of monkeying with the voting machines; she also said he added hundreds of thousands of ballots to the total. It was all a lie, like everything she says, but her accusations had their effect: Richer was stalked, as was his family—all of whom received death threats from MAGA nitwits. Kari Lake tried to stop Richer’s lawsuit, arguing that her charges against him were just “rhetorical hyperbole,” but that was another loss for her in court.

Lake recently said she won’t defend herself at trial because she knows she doesn’t have a defense! She lied, it’s on tape, and it ruined Richer’s life. Giuliani did the very same thing to Georgia election workers Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman. Here’s hoping Lake’s payout to Stephen Richer is in the same $148 million territory, so she, like Trump, has to spend donations from gullible goobers on lawyers and settlements, not her campaign.
