[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-07 I’ve been thinking more and more that msnbc is turning into just a bunch of self-congratulatory hacks. in Lawrence Odonnell’s slot tonite, a special “Prosecuting Donald Trump” was a shit show. at the outset, breathy, dramatic descriptions by msnbc anchors Joy, Chris, Rachel and finally Lawrence in his easily-imitable style proclaiming his profound interaction with the defendant in the courtroom. sez Larry, #45 responded to him as he did to no other, with Larry describing why the orange narcissus was so hate-filled toward him—more than anyone else who was “going to walk into that courtroom.” he says #45 was surprised to see him, an anchor-type in person instead of just the usual run-of-the-mill reporters. Odonell says it all dates back to 2011 when Larry called #45 a liar for his blather about Obama’s birth certificate. “and i called him a liar and donald trump had never been called a liar before in his life even tho he’d lived a life of lying.” what BS! people have called that baboon a liar for years—in and out of court. Odonnell was hardly the first. so after all the soft-lit background, drama-filled proclamations by the msnbc hosts, a new host was born. former trial attorney (his words) Andrew Weissman took the helm. and if there’s anyone less-skilled at hosting, or much less qualified, i can’t think of any off the top of my head— or the bottom of my... I can tolerate his legal analysis on msnbc, but his choppy and sloppy introductions and questioning of the fabulous panel of msnbc law dogs they assembled was pretty f-ing amateurish. he’s a lawyer, not a tv host and not a pundit, whose political insights aren’t worth more than the average person off the street. IMHO. msnbc is great at re-birthing people as hosts. I cannot f-ing believe that former RNC hack Michael Steele is now a regular host. msnbc is filled with former Republican sycophants and liars, including not just Steele, but former R hack Nicole Wallace who worked in W’s white house or barely recovering Republican Joe Scarborough or his wife Zbigniew Brezinski’s kid. I thought Jen Psaki was was a kick-ass press secretary for ol Joe, but she’s barely learning how to be a tv news person—looks good on screen though. and don’t let me get started on Mrs Alan Greenspan—host Andrea Mithell may have had some good years, but at just a few months younger than #45, she should’ve retired years ago. maybe all this is because msnbc shows are all-too-often infotainment instead of actual news. i guess that’s what sells. i could probably regale y’all with more swipes at the show, but it was so horrible, i had to turn it off shortly after Weissman took the stand, --er, anchor chair.
