Clarence Thomas admits he "forgot" to include the trips paid for by Harlan Crow in 2019 [1]

Ok, finally, apparently after lawyers consulting with him, Thomas has admitted that he “overlooked” the two trips financed by Harlan Crow in 2019. This comes after he went though this same rigmalore over a similar gift in 2014. Each time, he seems to do it, create a scandal and then weeks or months later, falls back on “I forgot”.

The above link is the second place I found this report, but in an earlier one it says clearly that he claimed that it was an oversight. Never mind that a week or two ago, he was absolutely certain that there was no reason whatever that he should have had to declare it. That tells me that his attempt to pass it off as a “mistake” is a result of hubris and the desire to paint himself as a good and upstanding person who is a “valuable” Justice despite his opinions on the opposite side of judge and freedom on just about every issue.

Personally, I feel that he STILL needs to rescue himself because with the possible exception of Alito, he is the most conflict-of-interest laden Justice in the court. Even Alito took less money that Thomas did.

And what is this about “the court has an ethics agreement without any way to enforce it”. Let’s not buy the lie. An “ethic agreement” without any means of enforcement is NO ethic agreement. Don’t let the Supreme Court fool the American people. There is more than enough evidence to support the fact that they are a questionable body and dangerous to true fairness and liberty when their interests disagree with that of the population of the United States.

Don’t let them fool you with fake repentance.
