The website OpenSecrets.org helped me make a $40,000+ car buying decision by finding the one Houston area Toyota dealership that didn’t donate to Republicans. And yes, I selected the color “Democrat blue” for my Prius Prime Advanced, a plug-in hybrid that I charge on my home’s 100% renewables electricity plan.

Two years ago, we had planned a road trip with that same car to visit relatives in North Carolina. Then came the Dobbs decision. We didn’t want to spend money in anti-choice states like Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama. Instead, we spent over $2,000 in pro-choice states and had a magnificent vacation.

Most recently, I’ve been identifying and cataloguing suspected Russian troll-created disinformation memes on Facebook. Here’s just one example:

Such memes are clearly intended to reelect Trump, who is Putin’s greatest asset. One prolific spreader of such nonsense (see image) revealed that he owned a certain restaurant. So I asked him:

As the owner of a retail business establishment, do you worry that you might be alienating some of your customers by posting the things you do on Facebook? Democrats certainly wouldn’t seem welcome.

He replied that we liberals are “misguided.” When I offered to discuss with him privately whether that’s true or not, instead of accepting my invitation, he blocked me.

So here’s my Google Maps review:

Avoid this place at all costs if you're a Democrat. The owner (robert.quattlebaum.790) unabashedly posts on social media the most obnoxious anti-Biden, anti-liberal, anti-Democrat garbage you'll ever see. And if you dare to question him on any of his disgusting posts, he'll block you. Stay away from this restaurant!

I have a dozen relatives who live near his restaurant. If the owner had accepted my offer to discuss whether we liberals are “misguided,” then I might have been persuaded to treat my relatives to dine at his restaurant. Zero chance of that happening now.

Please take a look at his Facebook posts and decide for yourself if I’m being unfair, or if more such Google Maps reviews might be appropriate. Thanks.

With every buying decision you make, think how you might be able to reward liberal businesses and punish the MAGA-loving ones. Let’s make a difference! It’s really fun!
