Have ads popping up on your DK story even if you subscribe to stop them? Try this easy fix.... [1]

Hi DK Community!

I’ve sent Help Desk a couple of notes about my experience lately with ads showing on-screen, even though I am a subscriber and generally view the site with ads OFF (which you can tell if you look at your profile icon menu, and looking down it see “Show Ads” in the fourth from bottom position).

But today I think I figured out how to stop it in any story I’m reading here.

Open any Daily Kos story, like this one by Aldous J Pennyfarthing: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/6/9/2245341/-15-bonkers-things-Alex-Jones-said-on-his-way-to-1-5-billion-judgment?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=top_news_slot_3&pm_medium=web

Then go to the URL and erase everything after the first ? in the URL, like this shows, just delete that portion that has the line through it (in your browser URL window) and then reload the page:

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/6/9/2245341/-15-bonkers-things-Alex-Jones-said-on-his-way-to-1-5-billion-judgment? pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=top_news_slot_3&pm_medium=web

Let me know if this works for you, until Help Desk figures out the source of the problem and fixes it for good.
