NY-16th Congressional District: Latimer v. Bowman [1]

I live in NY Congressional District 16. This area is lower Westchester County, New York, just north of the Bronx, New York City.

The former representative of this area was Mondaire Jones. After redistricting, portions of Westchester were combined into Jamaal Bowman’s district. He’s the current representative.

Now we are in a hotly contested primary with voting on June 25.

A few weeks ago, I was polled about the race. It was obviously a push poll. That’s how I became aware of George Latimer. Then, I began seeing quite a bit of advertising, initially all from Latimer. I began to wonder… hmm… Latimer seems to have quite a lot of resources. After all, this is an expensive media market.

But lately, Bowman has been advertising quite a bit that Latimer is receiving funds from MAGA.

Now, this seems to me to be an exaggeration. A Democrat that supports reproductive privacy and sends out literature that makes direct anti-Trump statements isn’t MAGA. The Bowman advertising suggests that Latimer is being put up by MAGA Republicans to fool Democrats.

Any insight?
