Nothing Runs Like John Deere — Layoffs and Relocation [1]

So long, John Deere. Seems they’re seeking greener pastures South of the Border.

John Deere employs around 70,000 people worldwide, but the year 2024 has brought recurring announcements regarding workforce reductions – in fact, so many that keeping up can be a challenge. The latest cuts are in Moline, Illinois, where the company has informed workers in its Seeding and Cylinder operations that 120 employees would be placed on “indefinite layoff” effective June 28th.

I always factor that for every “employee layoff” there are dozen or more people deeply affected.



Moline, Davenport, Dubuque, Ottumwa and Alkeny — Louisiana, Wisconsin, Georgia, Kansas, North Carolina, Tennessee.

There’s also “worldwide” operations. It’s really a new spin now, on — World Wide.
