Toward a theory of shtick: Our Donald is not as funny as Foster Brooks [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-12 Soylent Green is your drunk uncle at Thanksgiving. As Charles Sykes has claimed, no one is actually listening to a complete Trump speech to see whether they have devolved into complete unhinged screeds. Trump’s bits come from the last century and are even less entertaining, which is a low bar for a POTUS. Apparently RWNJ media is trying to suppress their audience’s awareness but also pander to the lowest common denominator of comic entertainment. Trump’s problem is that his shtick is tired and repetitive, aside from felonious. Shtick could be a style but invariably becomes passe in the hands of the untalented. Also, Napoleon and Caesar weren’t funny. x The late great FOSTER BROOKS roasting DON RICKLES in 1974. pic.twitter.com/yvw7m3j6yz — Michael Warburton (@TheMonologist) April 28, 2024 x Grothman: Donald Trump will once more make sure that the families stay together and that we’re not going to be separating families at the border pic.twitter.com/p6D8opDHVV — Acyn (@Acyn) April 2, 2024 x “The 45th president is deeply unwell.
