Florida is In Play [1]

I am proud to be a Democrat, running for Florida House of Representatives, District 55.

I am running to ensure that voters in District 55 have a choice regarding who will represent them, because I believe in democracy.

I am running in Pasco County to be sure that voters can choose a representative who cares about working families, our environment, our freedoms. Pasco County voters deserve a choice. That is what democracy is all about.

I became involved —

when Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried put out a call to all Florida Democrats, to ensure that NO Republican runs unopposed in our state legislative races. We responded.

Grassroots activists Dr. Fergie Reid and Margie Stein led a candidate recruitment activity, combining forces with several of us from the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida.

Our mission was to recruit candidates in the reddest of red districts, then help them qualify to run.

Under the leadership of Margie and Fergie, our group helped recruit and support 48 House and 8 Senate candidates, including soliciting donations that went to qualifying fees for several candidates. We are proud that we were able to so significantly contribute by getting 56 of the 140 candidates to the finish line, and to reach the historic FDP achievement that every seat in every legislative race is now uncontested.

I decided to run in Pasco County to ensure that voters have that choice.

Now, I need your help.

Florida is In Play.

This effort, making sure that no race is uncontested, is a part of the effort to put Florida in play: to support the Biden/Harris ticket, to retire Rick Scott, to force Republican candidates to defend every single state legislative seat, and flip several from red to blue.

In November, Pasco County Democrats will be able to vote for reproductive freedom, legalization of marijuana, and vote against the extremist Republican effort to make all school board elections partisan.

In November, Pasco County Democrats will be able to vote for a Democrat in every state legislative and congressional race, vote for an outstanding Democratic Senate candidate who can defeat Rick Scott, and vote for the Biden/Harris ticket.

I will be in Pasco County, combining forces with my fellow Democratic candidates, and delivering the Democratic message. I plan to win my race. But I need your help, because it costs money to get the message out.
