[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-18 I’ve raised nearly $650,000 for Democrats up & down the ballot so far this cycle, but less than 4% of that (under $25,000) has gone to statewide executive races. This is unfortunate, since Governors, Attorneys General and Secretaries of State hold a tremendous amount of power, especially when it comes to voting rights and enforcing fair & equitable election laws. There’s also another factor which relates especially heavily to the AG & SoS races which I was reminded of by Tobias Read, the Democratic nominee for Oregon Secretary of State in a thank you letter he sent me yesterday: "Statewide downballot races are particularly challenging since we aren't able to do the door-to-door of a legislative campaign but also don't have a full field program, so your support & the spotlight you've been willing to shine on us is very helpful." Oregon may seem like a blue state, but outside of the cities it’s my understanding that it’s beet red, so Mr. Read and his colleague Dan Rayfield (running for OR Attorney General) need our help.
