[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-20 The Religious Right just hit pay dirt in Louisiana by getting a law passed that requires the posting of the 10 commandments in all Louisiana classrooms. Why pursue an action they know will infuriate a majority of US residents as well as clearly violate the constitution of the US? Christians have to do this. It's a necessity for their religion. Particularly since Gallup found, in multiple polls taken in 2021, 2022, and 2023, that US adults attending organized religious services every week or nearly every week fell to 30%. Think about that. Only 3 in 10 of us, on average, in the US attend weekly mass in any religion. An equal percentage (31%) don't attend at all. It's even lower when we include those that seldom attend organized religious services. 56% of us don't attend or seldom attend religious services. Well over half of us.
