[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-21 The public evidence seems unequivocal as to the Orange One’s guilt in purloining government secret documents. But, of course, the legal process must produce an actual “guilty” verdict to hold that against him. Well, we already have one. Her Honour, Judge Cannon, has seen all the evidence and has concluded that Donald Trump is guilty as charged. How do we know this? Well, consider the following: Judge Cannon was appointed by Donald Trump after he had already lost the election in 2020 to Joe Biden. Judge Cannon refused to recuse herself even when urged to do so by superiors in her own legal jurisdiction. She has consistently shown herself to be far less than fair in treating the litigating parties, with the prosecutor consistently receiving the short end of every stick she divides. Nothing could be clearer: She is trying to protect Donald Trump — and doing a surprisingly good job at it. Her method has been to ensure that the trial does not take place before the November election. But wait a minute. Why does delay help Donald Trump? Having seen the evidence, she has obviously concluded that he is guilty. If she had looked at the evidence and found it deficient in any significant way, she would know that the best thing to do would be to send it to trial and make sure the trial is over before the election. Imagine the boost Donald Trump would get from a jury of twelve true and honorable citizens who determined he was not guilty before the election. It would be the greatest campaign accomplishment ever. But Judge Cannon knows that will never happen. Therefore, her only way of saving the orange zit on the face of humanity is for her to make sure the trial doesn’t take place.
