Here we go again...your tax dollars at work #2 [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-21 I’ve written about waste of our taxpayer dollars before. Breaking News! Didn’t the rule of law result in Trump’s conviction????? (My emphasis bolded.) Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced he is filing a lawsuit against the state of New York for what he called "their direct attack on our democratic process through unconstitutional lawfare against President Trump." "Radical progressives in New York are trying to rig the 2024 election. We have to stand up and fight back," he exclusively told Fox News Digital. Maybe SCOTUS will approve one state suing another state for a criminal prosecution resulting in a guilty verdict by a jury of peers of a Republican presidential candidate. /s Bailey's office noted that the lawsuit will go straight to the U.S. Supreme Court because it is a state versus state action. His office said it will be titled "Missouri vs. New York." Bailey argues that Bragg’s decision to bring the prosecution "despite its transparent weakness has nonetheless had the effect of keeping former President Trump off the campaign trail, which President Biden has bragged about." "despite its transparent weakness…? Did he not get convicted on all 34 counts by a unanimous verdict of citizens based solely on evidence? Not according to our Attorney General. "The investigations and subsequent prosecutions of former President Donald J. Trump appear to have been conducted in coordination with the United States Department of Justice," Bailey alleges, adding that he believes that allegation is demonstrated in part by the move of the third-highest ranking DOJ official, Matthew Colangelo, to the Manhattan DA's office to help prosecute the criminal case, N.Y. v. Trump. Other wastes of our taxpayer dollars by Bailey for political purposes. Planned Parenthood officials in Missouri say they will not give Attorney General Andrew Bailey the records of its young transgender patients. Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri filed a brief on Friday in St. Louis Circuit Court opposing the state’s motion to obtain medical records from Planned Parenthood’s transgender patients. Bailey “doubled down asking for private patient records, in violation of HIPAA, even going so far as asking for any documents mentioning social media,” said Margot Riphagen, the organization's vice president of external affairs, during a downtown rally. “It's just broad, politically motivated overreach. So we are pushing back against that on behalf of not only our patients, but all Missourians.” And this… Missouri’s Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against IBM after discriminatory hiring practices were brought to his attention. AG Bailey claimed that IBM actively subjects job applicants to unlawful racial and gender quotas and bases current employees’ pay and employment statuses on whether they participate in the discrimination. The suit alleged that when IBM made employment decisions it used a ‘diversity modifier,’ a standard that requires the company to meet hiring quotas based on race, color, national origin, sex or ancestry on a yearly basis. It couldn’t be because of this case, could it? /s The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed on Monday that Scott Kingston, who won a jury verdict against IBM last year for wrongful termination after he accused the company of racial bias, had proven his case and is entitled to economic damages totaling $5 million (along with attorneys' fees and other damages of three million dollars). Kingston, a longtime sales manager at IBM, was fired by the company in 2018 for alleged gross incompetence. But Kingston claimed he was fired in retaliation for voicing concerns that IBM had, in an apparent act of racial discrimination, capped the sales commission of a black salesman while awarding uncapped commissions to a white salesman. Nah.. I doubt it. Maybe this one. This article came up only last month. Maybe Bailey heard about it. IBM-owned Red Hat has been sued for allegedly discriminating against a White male employee. The legal team behind the suit is led by Stephen Miller, a key anti-immigration advisor to Donald Trump during his presidency. According to the suit, that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative within Red Hat "necessitates prioritizing skin color and race as primary hiring factors," and this, and not other factors, led to him being laid off. It couldn’t be because of this: /s Wood's opinions on religion and politics were also allegedly a factor in the firing, as the complaint says he was "vocal about his opposition" to Red Hat's DEI policies, a position that "several managers took issue with." Among those opinions was, presumably, his refusal to get a COVID-19 vaccine in 2021, though Red Hat gave Wood an exemption on religious grounds and allowed the now-former employee to work remotely. This news just came out today, but I haven’t seen anyone but Republicans advertising on TV. What happened to the advertising campaigns of these guys?
