Dictators know it’s important to say outrageous stuff to their base, because it’s a chance to evaluate the base’s fealty, and sense how much more fealty they are eager to give.

Former guy pulled off a real whopper at this Faith and Freedom conference. I’m sure at some nexus of conservative strategy the leaders and foot soldiers are overjoyed getting drunk, snorting stuff and laughing at the rubes.

The line about UFC fight and immigrants is just a hair away from the classic of throwing Christians to the lions in the Colosseum. Close enough that San educated believer would make the connection.



After all, many any immigrants must be Christians. Take this summary I found somewhere from the internets assessment of, say,Venezuelans…

Lordy, look here, we have a guy proposing ring (well octagon) fights in a stadium with Christ-following immigrants pitted against professional fighters. Entertainment for the blood thirsty evangelical masses. About as close as you can come to a modern version of Ancient Rome. All that’s missing is thumbs up or thumbs down from the Emperor. I suppose that is the upgrade after the election….

And the do called Christian organizers —did they interrupt, did they repudiate those words after the fact? Did they acknowledge these migrants as fellow Christians? All I found was crickets….

As Mrs Blue state remarked, More Anti Christ than Christ with this lot…. Uh
