Big Mama Thornton to be Inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame [1]

Big Mama Thornton made Rock and Roll…. Rock and Roll. Finally, after decades of being ignored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she is being inducted. Rock and Roll would not be Rock and Roll without her contributions. She is entering the RR Hall of Fame along with Rosetta Tharpe, known as the Godmother of Rock and Roll.

Better late than never, but earlier would have been much more fair. Google, then listen to her version of the song, which is not about a dog, but a no good husband. It blows the doors off Elvis’ version. She absolutely rocked. Now she is recognized.
