[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-24 So, this happened. I attempted to share on Facebook a post by Digby: Nothing Fascist Here, Nothing At All Here’s how it starts: The Heritage Foundation has outsourced the new MAGA SS to an operative in Kentucky who is putting together target list of enemy bureaucrats for crazies: From his home office in small-town Kentucky, a seasoned political operative is quietly investigating scores of federal employees suspected of being hostile to the policies of Republican Donald Trump, a highly unusual and potentially chilling effort that dovetails with broader conservative preparations for a new White House. Tom Jones and his American Accountability Foundation are digging into the backgrounds, social media posts and commentary of key high-ranking government employees, starting with the Department of Homeland Security. They’re relying in part on tips from his network of conservative contacts, including workers. In a move that alarms some, they’re preparing to publish the findings online. With a $100,000 grant from the Heritage Foundation, the goal is to post 100 names of government workers to a website this summer to show a potential new administration who might be standing in the way of a second-term Trump agenda — and ripe for scrutiny, reclassifications, reassignments or firings. I used the sharing link at Digby’s place to post it to Facebook with the comment “They’re not hiding it.” It got pulled almost immediately and I was notified my posts would be restricted. I’m guessing the problem was Digby illustrated the post with a picture closeup of a Nazi uniform with a swastika arm band. I’m guessing their automatic censor bots were triggered by the graphic — which was intended to illustrate the nature of what the Heritage Foundation is doing. According to Facebook: It looks like you shared or sent symbols, praise or shared support of people or organizations we define as dangerous, or followed them. This goes against our Community Standards on dangerous individuals and organizations. When I see some of the posts Facebook throws into my feed, it is pretty clear that their Community Standards are pretty much random and enforcement is hit or miss. I clicked on a link asking for a review, but I don’t expect much. It’s Facebook after all. I tried posting the entire article by Digby — just the text, not the graphic. I’ll see what happens. At least I can still post cat videos.
