[French news, sorry] [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-25 Jordan Bardella, the new mask trying to hide the Front Nationale , oh I am sorry, the Rassemblement National behind a softer, cuter, clean-cut image. Ha. For example: Can the French far-right ban foreigners from certain jobs? Link to The Connexion. Jordan Bardella, 28, leader of the Rassemblement National [RN], announced the measure during a press conference to present the party’s programme on Monday, 24 June. “The most strategic positions in the State will be reserved for French citizens and French nationals,” Mr Bardella said. He said dual nationals would be prevented from holding certain “sensitive” jobs, particularly in the “security and defence sectors”. He did not specify which jobs would fall under the ban, but said “very few people” would be affected. Mr Bardella said the aim of the measure would be to prevent “attempts at interference that could be orchestrated by foreign states”. “Imagine Franco-Russians working in the Armed Forces Ministry,” he said. Very few people? Of course, they would not deal with the majority, they like to cut things up. I mean you have to discriminate against someone. The real reason? Dual nationality and national identity — Link the French Institute for Demographic Studies INED Dual nationals account for 5% of the population of metropolitan France aged 18 to 50 years; 90% of them are immigrants or descendants of immigrants. Nearly half of immigrants who have acquired French nationality have also kept their original one. While there are very few bi-nationals among persons originally from Southeast Asia (less than 10%), more than two-thirds of North African immigrants, 55% of Turkish immigrants and 43% of Portuguese immigrants combine French nationality with that of their countries of origin. Unlike Spanish or Italian immigrants, those from other EU27 countries mainly hold on to their original nationalities when they become French. Oh, what a fucking surprise. tic: Box one completed Rights and safety of LGBTQ people at risk if far-right wins French parliamentary elections: Link to France24 Since French President Emmanuel Macron lost the European elections to the far-right National Rally on June 9 and announced snap parliamentary elections, attacks on LGBTQ people have been deliberately political. Rights groups fear that if the far right comes to power in under two weeks, laws put in place to protect LGBTQ people could be dismantled and violent attacks legitimised. Wait! tic: Box 2 completed 'For women, voting for the Rassemblement National is like pointing a gun at yourself' Link to Le Monde Marine Le Pen's far-right party is increasingly appealing to women, even though its MPs are nowhere to be found on issues of harassment, reproductive rights or gender equality, writes philosopher Camille Froidevaux-Metterie. tic: Box 3 completed Bingo! Oh shit. Three for three. Some asked me why I kept my triple nationality. Hint the Fascists have been around for a very long time now. Ha. Bring it on you bunch of assholes. Fascism creeps up on you, but before you know it, you are screwed. Talbenn Dieubiñ Breizh.
