ICYMI: John Oliver exposes how radical Project 2025 is. [1]

Odds are if you’ve spent any time around Daily Kos, you’ve heard something about Project 2025. While there has been coverage of it in the news media, it doesn’t begin to set off the alarm bells as much as it deserves. At 900 pages, it doesn’t boil down easily to sound bites and quick video cuts. There’s been much more coverage of Biden’s age than what Trump empowered by Project 2025 would do. It’s going ahead full steam; they already have a hit list of federal employees to target.

John Oliver has spent almost a half hour pulling out some of the more egregious parts of the plan and dragging them into the light. He throws in a certain amount of snark (I really didn’t need to know about MILF Manor), but most of what he has to show is about Project 2025 and is horrifying. (Actually, so is MILF Manor.)

After a comedic opening, he gets right into showing what a nasty piece of work Trump is, and how only his own incompetence kept him from doing more damage in his first term. Starting at about 6 minutes in, Oliver begins laying out how Project 2025 will give Trump the tools to really wreak havoc.

Project 2025 is being described by Republicans as a way to make Trumpism the law of the land. This is what the Republican Party is all about these days — Trump is just their front man in this — any Republican will do. If Trump disappeared tomorrow night, this would still be their agenda — as Oliver warns.
