[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-26 Republicans are nominating a man for President who was found guilty of falsifying business records to influence the 2016 election. A jury of his peers looked at the evidence and declared him guilty of lying and cheating. It's a felony. Republicans are nominating a felon for President. They want to give him access to classified intelligence and access to the nuclear codes. Republicans looked at all of the leading members of their party and decided the cheater who falsifies business records is the best person to spend our tax dollars and improve our economy. Clearly, I'm not a politician or a political advisor, just someone who has listened to how Democrats "bring a knife to a gunfight" or how useless it is to point out the absurdity of this moment because the die-hard MAGA people are drinking the Kool-Aid. Why isn't some version of the following not repeated every time members of the media interview a Democrat or left-leaning politician? On the Economy I prefer non-felons creating policy on our economic future. Republicans want to put our economic future in the hands of a convicted felon. I don't. Call me old-fashioned, but people who cheat on their taxes and brag about it shouldn't be President — especially ones who a jury of their peers has indicted. On National Security I feel safer knowing that the nuclear codes aren't in the hands of a convicted felon. Who wants classified documents in the hands of someone convicted of fraud — especially one with a history of not returning them and storing them in questionable locations? I guess Republicans do. I prefer not to share classified documents with convicted felons. On Immigration If I choose between a lifelong public servant and a criminal who is advised and surrounded by other criminals, I trust the public servant to create a fair process for entering this country. Why is Trump so concerned with the lawlessness of illegal immigrants? Is he worried about the competition? You get the picture. Why is this so hard? WHY IS THIS SO HARD???? /rant off [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/6/26/2248815/-Who-nominates-a-criminal-for-president?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=more_community&pm_medium=web Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
