Biden IS the problem [1]

I love Joe. I think he was a great VP and a pretty decent president. Moreover, he is a decent man. But what those of you who don’t want him to step aside don’t seem to appreciate is that it is HE that voters don’t want. It is not a bad situation that has been flung at him, a la Obama 2012, that he can at least theoretically do something about. He is polling well below “generic Democrat” in every swing state. He has lost support from every minority group. How do you correct a problem with more of yourself when the problem is you? What opportunities will he have left to change minds, especially given that Trump will almost certainly pull out of the next debate? He’s not going to make the economy better, because it’s already great. He can’t force prices down. As I said to someone earlier today, it’s not about whether people “should” like him. The fact is they don’t.

I’m a realist. It’s probably too late, too divisive, etc. But when the root cause of the problem is as obvious as it is, don’t blame people for pointing out an obvious solution.
