Time for Trump to leave the race [1]

Joe Biden is under pressure from various fronts to drop out after a shaky debate performance. Okay. Biden is an older imperfect man with solid accomplishments in his first presidential term, decades of valuable experience in diplomacy, legislation, and offering comfort to traumatized Americans, and who understands that the task of a leader is to make sound judgments for the collective well-being of his country. He makes it a point to depend on advisers and cabinet officers who have a similar dedication to American democracy and a like commitment to addressing its flaws.

On the other hand, Trump is an older imperfect man who is a pathological liar, sexual abuser, habitual business fraud, race-baiting rising fascist with no commitment to the well-being of our country or the world, and proven criminal who believes the role of government is to promote and protect a corrupt oligarchy, beginning with himself and his family. His “debate” performance consisted of the same stump speech he’s given a thousand times, crammed full of the same dangerous and reckless lies and hyperbole, which he assaulted Biden and the viewers with while the thankless moderators completely abandoned the journalist’s first obligation to promote and defend the truth.

Surely the New York Times and the others shrieking for Biden’s hide, based on little or no serious reflection, will now start howling for Trump to drop out as well, based on their years of reflection on his performances. Wouldn’t that be fair?
