Now BOTH Schumer and Biden are 'Palestinian'...? [1]

After Trump bizarrely attempted to insult Biden in the first presidential ‘debate’ by calling him a ‘Palestinian,’ he was apparently so thrilled with his newly minted racist slur that he has now also applied it to Jewish Senator Chuck Schumer:

“Schumer has become a Palestinian. He’s Jewish but he’s become a Palestinian,” the former president said.

While the comment about Biden was largely overlooked, at least by much of America’s corporate media, which appears to be either grossly incompetent or simply bought-and-paid-for corporate shills (the CNN moderators said nothing except “thank you, President Trump” when he finished making these inflammatory remarks at the presidential debate) it has thankfully been met with far greater condemnation from the Internet. One can hope that this means at least some Internet journalists are a little less incompetent and/or a bit less corrupt than their traditional media counterparts. Unfortunately, we also know that much of our world weird web is a virtual cesspool of conspiracy theories and disinformation. So, I do not know that the Internet, by itself, will save us from a disinformation dystopia. But, that is a separate issue.

It remains to be seen how important it will be to the overall election that Trump has now repeatedly used the word ‘Palestinian’ as a slur for Biden and other Democrats, including Jewish politicians, like Schumer, who he sees as insufficiently deferential to Netanyahu’s extreme government and their inhumane treatment of the Palestinian people.

But, I do think this issue will be much more important than many people first realized because it could be a crucial way to redefine the narrative around Trump’s Gish Gallop of lies that he trotted out at the debate. I pointed this out right away and was one of the few here to ask Did Trump's 'weak' 'Palestinian' Slur Cost Him the Debate? I think it may have been the missing zinger that we hoped Biden would land on Trump, but Trump ended up landing it on himself instead.

Trump’s continuing use of the word ‘Palestinian’ as a slur could not only turn out to be a disqualifying self-own in the presidential debate, it also highlights the contradiction between leftwing extremists who have given Biden the inflammatory label “Genocide Joe” for what they claim is his total support of Netanyahu and Trump who claims Biden does not support Netanyahu at all. Trump further contends that Netanyahu needs to “finish the job” in Gaza and Biden “won’t let him.” So, obviously, both assertions cannot be true. Biden cannot simultaneously be completely for and completely against Netanyahu.

I think a considerable portion of the left flank of the Democratic Party has been displeased with Biden on the issue of Gaza. Many of them have even talked themselves into believing that Biden is somehow worse on the issue than Trump. But, now, Trump has expressed his extreme racist animus toward Palestinians and outed himself as being completely in favor of Netanyahu “finish[ing] the job” in Gaza. He has further identified Biden and Democrats as being the main obstacles in the way of complete carnage. So, I think it becomes harder for some on the Left to maintain the illusion that Biden is the bad guy and Trump is somehow secretly on their side. Perhaps they will even come up with a new nickname for Trump to express this: I vote for Death Camp Donny.
