SCOTUS “When The President Does It, It Is Not Illegal”. Ok, Get to Work Joe! [1]

It’s official.



The Roberts Court has put itself on par with the Taney Court as the worst court in history. It may not appear so now, but the Supreme Court has essentially said the Constitution does not apply to the President.



Full Stop.



The Court just summarily overturned the Constitution. It is going to take a moment for people to figure it out. But this will go down as totally anti-Constitutional in the same way Plessy vs Ferguson eventually did. And remember, Plessy just said black people didn’t have rights, it didn’t say the President had the right to kill black people because they were poisoning the blood of the country, all with a presumption of innocence and a DOJ that had no ability to prosecute him. This ruling effectively did.

Keep in mind, this gives any President a presumption of innocence, and now the military has no ability to determine what is and isn’t an unlawful order. Every order is presumed lawful due to the actions of this rouge court.

I can not say it strongly enough how absolutely dangerous this is Vladimir Putin would be proud.

So what do Democrats do?

I would argue taking a two step parallel approach.

1. Immediately pivot to running on court reform and connect it to the platform.

Present the case that this Supreme Court is dangerous. They want mass shooters to be able to kill more people, they want women having miscarriages to bleed out, they want IVF to be illegal, the want the courts to determine whether the water in Flint is clean, they want Presidents to be kings, they want homelessness to be a crime, and they want, and the want President to be able to round up citizens he/she deem dangerous.



It’s all right there in writing. Do not hold back. The situation is too dire.

I would put up an ad that says the court gave Donald Trump the power to assassinate his political opponents if reelected (show Sotomayor’s quote) and say we can not take that risk.

2. Move immediately to constituent service.

The courts have said all acts of the President are presumed legal (or at least the President is immune from prosecution). So it would be a dereliction of duty to not immediate take action on behalf of America.



Here are four immediate actions to take:

1. Eliminate all student debt

2. Pardon all non-violent drug offenders.

3. Order via HUD the immediate opening of federal housing for all homeless in America

4. Provide citizenship to all DREAMers.

Every single thing here falls into a category related to executive power. Use it.

It is not possible to eliminate the threat created by this ruling beyond electing Democrats forever, and even that won’t do it.

A constitutional amendment won’t even do it because the court could overturn.

The only option is a total reconstitution of the Supreme Court and rewriting this failed rulings just like Plessy v. Ferguson was overturned.

I fear for what happens to this country in the interim.
