What Biden can do if he loses. [1]

SCOTUS has decided that a President cannot be prosecuted for anything they do that is an official act. I am still waiting for a definition of "official act", but for now let's assume this means anything they do to exercise the functions defined in the Constitution. One of these functions is commander-in-chief of the armed forces. A President can use this power to launch a military attack against an individual or nation, without any authorization from Congress. This has been done countless times.

If Biden loses the election, he has 10 weeks to exercise power before Trump is sworn in on Jan. 20. He could send Seal Team 6 to eliminate Trump. SCOTUS has insured he cannot be punished for this. (This may be a stretch — but it seems legal per SCOTUS majority.)

I have long suspected that lawyers are mostly full of shit. Now I am sure. The SCOTUS liberal minority (3) has expressed outrage and contempt for the decision by the conservative majority (6). The majority arguments were distorted to match a desired conclusion, in a mockery of common sense. Our highest lawyers are like medieval scholars arguing about whether angels have a location or take up space. The connection to reality is missing. Unfortunately they occupy the same world as us normal humans.

Chief Justice Roberts wrote the following to defend presidential immunity:

Potential criminal liability, and the peculiar public opprobrium that attaches to criminal proceedings, are plainly more likely to distort Presidential decisionmaking than the potential payment of civil damages.

The hesitation to execute the duties of his office fearlessly and fairly that might result when a President is making decisions under “a pall of potential prosecution,” … raises “unique risks to the effective functioning of government.”

In other words: a president must not be constrained by any worry that a potential action is illegal. He/she must be free to act. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. What kind of lawyer is Roberts?
