A FEW THINGS OCCUR TO ME [1]

* The Democratic Party leadership needs to suppress its risk averse attitude and send surrogates out in the media to go after the SCOTUS decision--to spell out the deeply anti-democratic nature of the decision, articulating how it helps Trump in his sinister quest for dictatorship, and the electoral stakes especially. This should be an easy lift, most people hate this court. This should be happening now, all the way to the election.

* AOC’s impeachment cry may appear feckless to many, but only If you measure it by near term success. People need to see our party making bold moves, especially our base. The term propaganda has a bad rap, but sometimes there is good propaganda, and here is an example. The GOP use this shit, and most of the time it is just smoke and mirrors, but it is effective in building morale for their side. If we need to launch a lawsuit or two as a Hail Mary...let’s do it...it shows we are awake and give a damn.

*A legal think — and tank needs to put together a list of what can be done to resist this court in the actual court system and legal landscape: short term resistance, to long term solutions must be considered. To the extent that judges and AGs can be involved— the more the merrier. Questions as simple as: what can the States do to resist or subvert the worst moves by SCOTUS, should be speculated upon. The point is this: people love to focus on what we can’t do. It is a morbid game among liberals. Why not start with the premise that we must fight at every turn?

* Set aside some money and resources to build a legal war chest and army of volunteer lawyers to defend the vote. The recent court rulings will do nothing but embolden right-wing shit heads to subvert the will of the people. Ditto, should we actually win, the Army needs to stand by to guard the House and subsequent vote count. I am sure they are thinking about it, but, it needs to be actioned...now
