Amendment Time? [1]

Date: 2024-07-02  

Given that SCOTUS has completely shat the bed at this point and opened the door to whatever authoritarian minded candidate might eventually find their way into the Oval Office, is it time to write and pass a Constitutional Amendment that in no uncertain terms gives SCOTUS two large middle fingers up and makes it damned clear that yes, the President IS a US citizen and subject to it’s laws just like anyone else.

Something along the lines of:

The President and Vice President, being citizens of the United States, are subject to the Constitution and to the laws of the nation, both state and federal. Criminal activities that may be performed by either of those two officers of the United States, whether before, during, or after their term of office may be charged and tried as with any other criminal activity and the offices of the President and Vice President shall offer no immunity from indictment and prosecution to those who hold them.

I wanted to throw in the VP just to make sure all bases were covered.
