OK, the Supreme Court has become a partisan tool. Now what? [1]

A lot of people are Losing It over the Presidential Immunity decision of the SCotUS.

Yes, it's a bad decision.

Yes, it increases the risk the American experiment in representative democracy will end in tyranny.

BUT (Behold the Underlying Truth)...

First, no group of 6 people can successfully dictate what 100's of millions of people must accept or do.

Governments are formed, and stay in existence, at the consent of the governed. This has ultimately always been the bedrock truth.

Second. Yep, the decision was horrible enough to be a low point in the history of the Court in specific and our nation in general.

=This is not the first time the SCotUS has acted in a blatantly partisan manner supportive of authoritarianism or tyranny.=

Read up on the history of the circumstances leading up to, and the people involved in, The Dred Scott Decision.

There are a lot of parallels between that and our current situation.

Our nation survived it. It was not pretty.

It came at a cost I pray and work every day for us to avoid.

But the Union, and representative democracy, survived.

Never in all of recorded history has a small group been able to

indefinitely deny the rights of a much larger majority.

It simply does not work.

The only variables are in these questions and their answers:

=How long does it take to end minority rule?, and

=How nasty will the cost that needs to be paid be?

The answers to those 2 questions are up to =US=

Each and every single one of us gets to decide in the next 4 months whether the authoritarians are stopped as quickly and painlessly as possible; or whether the price for stopping them will be higher and more horrible.

They will ultimately lose folks. They always do.

Let's unite and make sure the authoritarians lose as quickly and painlessly as possible.
