President Biden to do a full interview with George Stephanopoulos / ABC News on Friday [1]

Several of us have been urging President Biden to address voters’ fears with a full-on media 1:1. This type of communication is important because the urgent question at hand is: what’s the current and likely near-future condition of President Biden’s mind? Is he up for this? Both the 2024 campaign and the next Presidential term? Was the debate an anomaly, one bad night, or was it the revelation of serious decline?

We all have opinions in here, some of them heated — but footage is footage and this interview will help inform us.

I am thankful to see that the Biden camp understands the need for the President to confront and address this question, and they are responding.

Full length interview conversation with George Stephanopoulos, to be recorded this Friday July 5. A portion will air on Friday; the full interview will air on Sunday July 7.

If it goes well, I think more of us will be reassured, and hopefully some of those pushing loudly for Biden to withdraw will simmer down. If it doesn’t, the voices calling for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 campaign will likely amplify and grow.

Let’s hope.
