SCENARIO after the SCOTUS decision of 07/01/2024 [1]

In July 2024 after the United States Supreme Court rendered its decision and essentially said a President is immune from the consequences of “official acts,” President Biden told his closest advisors, “OK, pull the ripcord and implement the protocol. Consider this an official act to preserve Democracy.”

Two weeks later, former President Trump fell while walking down the steps from the stage after a rally in Georgia. One of the steps gave way. Trump went through the hole made by the missing step and died when his head banged against one of the other steps. His aides and secret service detail rushed to block his fall, but they could not catch him in time.

The investigation into the death revealed that one of the bolts that supported the step had rusted through and completely snapped under Trump’s weight.

After a brief investigation, President Biden was cleared of any wrongdoing. Even so, he reminded the public that based on the SCOTUS decision, he COULD have ordered Trump’s execution.

This remark created an uproar among the members of Trump’s MAGA following. As a counter to the uproar, President Biden’s team assembled a video of former President Trump arguing for Presidential immunity at several of his rallies and press conferences. It was a classic “rope-a-dope” strategy like the one Biden used when he gave his State of the Union address in 2023. During that speech, he got the Republicans to agree to protect Social Security and Medicare. He told the audience that some Republicans wanted to make cuts to Medicare and Social Security. There was audible protest from the Republican side of the audience, and the word “liar” could be heard. Then Biden said, something like, “Well I’m glad we all agree; those programs are off the books now.”

By September 2024, a massive movement to reform the federal court system was underway. The major issues that triggered this movement were the lifetime appointment of federal judges, the lack of a code of ethics for Supreme Court justices, and the alleged “weaponization” of the justice department. Miraculously, this movement to reform the federal court system had the support of Americans of all political persuasions. A petition containing proposed legislation drafted by the ACLU, the Brennan Center for Justice, and other organizations focused on reform called for 20-year term limits for Supreme Court justices and other Federal judges with lifetime appointments. Further, the 20-year service limit was to be applied retroactively. If the voters approved the proposed legislation, and the Constitution subsequently amended, Justice Clarence Thomas would have to retire immediately. Also included in the proposed legislation was a mandatory code of ethics for Federal judges, including those on the Supreme Court.
