Funk Night The latest installment of the El Fresco Music Series is bringing the funk from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center Plaza. El Fresco is the revival of a free, monthly outdoor music series previously known as Alfresco! Fridays. The series continues July 19 with country music and Aug. 8 with rock music. The celebration marks the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. Games, entertainment, live music, fashion shows, vendors and food are part of the event, one of several taking place at city parks, libraries, museums and the zoo. Admission is free. Information: City of El Paso Juneteenth 12th Annual Margarita Shake-Off The 12th annual Margarita Shake-Off, a fundraiser for the local nonprofit Hospice El Paso, is scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at San Jacinto Plaza. Attendees at the event will be able to sample and vote on their favorite margaritas prepared by local bars and restaurants. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Javi of 104.3 HIT FM and Azucar El Paso. Tickets: $20 at the door.
