This is the first union established at Barrett Hospital & Healthcare. Ballots were tallied by the National Labor Relations Board on April 15 with 18 nurses voting for the union and 8 voting against. Nurse organizers and MNA say prolonged staffing shortages at the local and state level with limited access to travelers has challenged the BHH nursing staff. Additionally, BHH nurses want a voice to improve nurse retention and recruitment strategies. MNA is the leader and advocate for the professional nurse in Montana, representing more than 3,000 members. MNA promotes professional nursing practice, standards, and education; represents professional nurses; and provides nursing leadership in promoting high quality healthcare. Barrett Hospital and Healthcare is a local resource for high quality, personalized healthcare in the Beaverhead County community for more than 100 years. MNA is proud of the work the BHH nurses and other healthcare professionals do everyday and looks forward to building a collaborative relationship.
