Nurses at Barrett Hospital and Healthcare in Dillon vote to unionize – Daily Montanan

The nurses at Barrett Hospital and Healthcare in Dillon have voted to unionize, the Montana Nurses Association announced on Wednesday.

“The Montana Nurses Association is pleased to congratulate our newest professional nurses’ union, the registered nurses of Barrett Hospital & Healthcare,” a press release said.

This is the first union established at Barrett Hospital & Healthcare. Ballots were tallied by the National Labor Relations Board on April 15 with 18 nurses voting for the union and 8 voting against. Nurse organizers and MNA say prolonged staffing shortages at the local and state level with limited access to travelers has challenged the BHH nursing staff. Additionally, BHH nurses want a voice to improve nurse retention and recruitment strategies.
