MSU Billings gives all clear after warning of potential shooter – Daily Montanan [1] ['Nicole Girten', 'More From Author', '- August'] Date: 2022-08 Montana State University-Billings issued an “all clear” after officials posted to social media Tuesday to warn students and staff of a potential gunman coming to campus. MSUB posted on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 to update that there was no suspicious activity reported on the Billings campus. MSUB Communications Director Maureen Braake said Tuesday that the threat was called in by a gas station attendant who was told of the threat this morning and that information was then relayed to campus police. She said as of noon Tuesday the police were halfway through their search on campus and had not seen or heard any suspicious activity. In a post on MSUB’s Facebook, the university asked that those on campus lock campus buildings and not leave until receiving the all clear. The full post reads: MSUB EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION: MSU Billings received reports of a potential gunman coming to University Campus. Please lock your departments and campus buildings. Do not leave your departments until you’ve received the all clear. If you are not on campus, stay away. Report any suspicious activity to MSUB Police 406-657-2222 or call 911.
