German manufacturing company plans to build US headquarters in Lewistown – Daily Montanan [1] ['Blair Miller', 'More From Author', '- December'] Date: 2023-12 German manufacturing company VACOM announced its plans to build its American headquarters in Lewistown Friday alongside Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte, who said the facility would create as many as 500 new jobs during the next five years. The company builds various vacuum mechanisms and cleaning technology and plans the headquarters to be a 40,000 square foot facility that includes a daycare facility for employees’ children and an educational center for employee training, the Governor’s Office said. The company, founded by a physicist as a family business in 1992, is based in central Germany but has branches in Belgium, Naples, Fla., and Reno, Nev. The governor said the facility represents a $90 million investment by the company. “Our state is made stronger when companies like VACOM choose to do business in Montana, providing our kids and grandkids the opportunity to thrive in a good-paying job, and raise their family in the community they love,” Gianforte said in a statement. His office said the company currently employs 400 people but would create up to 500 “good-paying Montana jobs” by 2029. VACOM CEO Jens Bergner was joined by Gianforte and leadership from Fergus County for the announcement. “We are very looking forward to working together with Montanans. They are great people,” Bergner said in a statement.
