Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, is receiving treatment at a hospital for an infection, according to his office. “Senator Chuck Grassley is receiving antibiotic infusions at an area hospital to treat an infection,” said a statement from his office with a Washington dateline. “He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors’ orders.” No other information was disclosed Tuesday night. Grassley was hospitalized just over a year ago for hip surgery after sustaining a fracture. Grassley, 90, was elected to represent the Hawkeye State in the U.S. House in 1974 and the Senate in 1980. He won his most recent reelection to the Senate in 2022. Grassley, the top Republican on the Senate Budget committee, is up for reelection in 2028, and he’s already filed with the Federal Election Commission to raise money for a bid.
