About the Role You will be actively involved in teaching and administrating academic programs in Art, developing and maintaining high-quality curricula, supervising student projects, and enhancing teaching practices. Additionally, you will maintain active participation in research projects, interdisciplinary collaboration, professional engagement with the arts sector, and contribute consistently to the intellectual and strategic initiatives of the Faculty. Your responsibilities will include: Creating high-quality curricula and course materials in consultation with staff, while conducting various teaching activities such as tutorials, workshops, and seminars. Supervising honours and graduate students, undertaking student consultations, and performing marking and assessment duties. Initiating and participating in research projects, enhancing artistic and academic research programs, and producing high-quality publications and creative outcomes. Engaging with the professional arts sector, fostering collaborative relationships with external industry networks, and actively participating in Faculty outreach and strategic initiatives. Who We Are Looking For You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset to contribute to the strategic development of VCA Art and Faculty programs. You will also demonstrate leadership in community engagement, industry partnerships, and the ability to successfully implement strategies to support discipline priorities and targets. You will also have: PhD in the field of contemporary art practice with a focus on contemporary Visual Art practices and its theoretical context or professional equivalency, as determined by the selection committee. Demonstrated management skills including inclusive decision-making, planning, budgeting, and aligning resources with strategic goals. Strong commitment to teaching at all levels in higher education, innovation in curriculum design, and a distinguished personal contribution to teaching. Thorough knowledge of University policies and procedures related to student and staff matters, leadership in fostering scholarship excellence, promoting research, and developing research training Ability to supervise Research Higher Degree candidates and contribute to community-building and engagement activities.
