Embassy Accra sponsors fact-check training for rural journalists [1]

Journalists from rural parts of Ghana received Embassy Accra-sponsored training, Oct. 12, through Dubawa Ghana, a fact-checking organization based in Accra that directly debunks false reporting, provides analysis and training for journalist organizations, and encourages media literacy for young people. Embassy Accra’s public affairs section is supporting the program with a grant. The training in three cities across Ghana (Tamale, Kumasi, and Accra) is specifically for journalists from smaller cities and media markets who often lack access to professional development opportunities. The program underscores U.S. support for press freedom and professional journalism both in major cities and rural areas.
