DSS partners with students to defend against security threats [1] [] Date: 2023-07-07 A group of students from the Rochester Institute of Technology met with Deputy Assistant Secretary Gharun Lacy (center in red tie), during a visit to the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Headquarters, March 16. The meeting occurred as a result of a DSS partnership with university students aimed at identifying and addressing the latest techniques employed by malicious cyber actors. In a class called Hacking for Diplomacy, an innovative group of students worked alongside experts from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s Countermeasures Directorate Office of Security Technology and Directorate of Cyber and Technology Security. By tapping into fresh perspectives like these, the Department of State will be better positioned to address emerging security threats.
