Department dragon boat racing team wins gold [1] [] Date: 2023-08-08 “Diplomatic Row,” a dragon boat team composed of Department of State and World Bank employees, won first place in the 200-meter B Division Mixed Finals at the Washington D.C. Dragon Boat Festival held on the Potomac River, May 20. The Diplomatic Row team was formed in 2013 and competes each spring alongside teams from other agencies, businesses, and community groups. The Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs’ Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Kim Moy and other Department colleagues joined to cheer the team on. Dragon boat racing is a fun sport and an opportunity to engage with the wider Washington community while celebrating Asian cultural heritage.
