Signing of the U.S.-Japan Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Memorandum of Understanding [1] [] Date: 2024-04 Acting Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs Jennifer Littlejohn and Takayuki Fujiyoshi Deputy Director General for the Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy at the Japan Cabinet Office have signed a Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the two countries announced during the official visit of Prime Minister Kishida of Japan on April 10. Acting Assistant Secretary Littlejohn and Deputy Director General Fujiyoshi shared their commitment to deepen connectivity between U.S.-Japan science and technology entrepreneurs, expand investment opportunities, and foster technological innovation. The U.S.-Japan GIST MOU will catalyze innovation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote entrepreneurial endeavors that contribute to the advancement of science, technology, and societal well-being.
