This pivotal event will take place from June 25 to 27, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya. Building on the successes and insights gained from the inaugural event in 2023, this year's edition aims to promote increased private sector engagement and opportunities. It will convene African and international pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturers, development financial institutions, and international organizations to strengthen partnerships and foster new collaborations. With Africa's pharmaceutical market poised for significant growth, this event is critical for promoting opportunities for the private sector and advancing local manufacturing capabilities and reducing dependency on imported vaccines and pharmaceuticals. The event will provide extensive private sector networking and engagement opportunities, enabling participants to strengthen existing partnerships and forge new collaborations between global and Africa-based vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturers. This will facilitate technology partnerships and boost investments for local pharmaceutical and vaccine production. Participants will learn about market access and off-take mechanisms such as the African Vaccine Manufacturing Accelerator by GAVI and African pooled procurement mechanisms. The event will also offer a platform to examine sustainable business models, technologies, and investment partnerships crucial for vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturing in Africa. Additionally, attendees from the private sector will gain a comprehensive understanding of available financial and technical support programs and how to access them. The supply chain segment will allow engagement with technology providers and supply chain actors essential for pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing.
