Strengthening HIV testing services in francophone countries from West and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean sub-region [1] [] Date: 2024-06-25 From 25 to 27 June 2024, Francophone countries from West and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean sub-region (Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Togo) are meeting in Lomé, Togo, to strengthen HIV testing services and integration. Across 3-levels, WHO, in collaboration with the Global Fund and UNAIDS will host this workshop, which aims to support the identification of solutions to address existing testing gaps and to strengthen testing and linkage services. The meeting will welcome around 80 participants, including representatives from the Ministries of Health, civil society and partner organizations and coincides with the release of recent WHO guidance on testing for HIV and viral hepatitis; providing countries an opportunity to update and prioritize their national plans and strategies. This workshop will be fully in French and will allow participants to exchange lessons learned across countries and discuss challenges and opportunities to improve HTS coverage and support the implementation of integrated testing approaches. The workshop will be held over 3 days, consisting of presentations, plenary sessions, and group works. The program will be designed to promote active participation, engagement, and knowledge sharing among participants.
