DPI statement on correspondence to Milwaukee Public Schools [1] [] Date: 2024-06-06 13:56:05-05:00 MADISON — Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Communications Officer Chris Bucher released the following statement regarding a letter sent today to Milwaukee Public Schools "Today, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction notified Milwaukee Public Schools that we are temporarily withholding the district’s June special education aid payment. The department continues working deeply and actively with MPS to develop a corrective action plan (CAP) to submit the required data referred to in our May 24 letter, and we remain optimistic we will have a CAP in place so we can make the scheduled general aid payment later this month. When we have a CAP in place, we will also be able to release this withheld special education aid payment. Our focus remains on solving this challenge and supporting all of Milwaukee's children.” [END] --- [1] Url: https://dpi.wi.gov/news/releases/2024/chris-bucher-dpi-statement-mps-funding Published and (C) by Wisconsin Watch Content appears here under this condition or license: Creative Commons BY-ND 4.0 Intl. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/wisconsinwatch/
