when the days blend together ~rav3ndust ------------------------------------------------------------------ what a week/weekend it's been. ~bartender, just a beer please, whatever's on tap. I haven't been able to step into the Pub since the last post I made thanks to being away from my internet, and we ended up losing my father-in-law. It's been a crazy week with family coming in and out, memorial planning, and all the usual stuff. With everything going on the days blended together. I woke up on Saturday thinking it was Friday until I checked my phone. Thankfully, I just got back home last night and caught up on some sleep - at the in-laws' place, we were sleeping on an air mattress, and my back doesn't seem to like them. I maybe slept for 3-4ish hours each day that we were over there. On the upside, things are calming down and the family is doing relatively alright under the circumstances. They were married for over 50 years, so my mother-in-law is learning how to navigate life without my father-in-law around, but she seems to otherwise be doing okay. My wife and I took some time off to help out, and despite everything that was going on and the sad circumstances around it, it was nice to have a little break away from all the screens. I am, however, thankful to be back home and finally able to rest. We got some rain last night. It was nice, and it has had the temperature here in my part of the world feeling pretty decent - 78*F today, a nice reprieve from the 90s+. It is overcast right now, and I am glad to be able to give my air conditioner a break. I just got caught up on some work from last week, and am thinking about breaking out my guitar in a few minutes, it's been about a week since I've been able to play it. I was happy to be back in my own bed last night. Being away from it for a few days gave me a brand new appreciation of it. I feel like I caught up on a whole week's worth of sleep in one night. Anyway, it's a new Monday and a new week, and I plan to make the best of it, get caught up on some things, and get started on some other things. Hope all of you are doing well this week, too, pubbers - cheers! 🍺
