Yeah I hear that acis stuff makes acid seem a cup of tea. You're messed up forever man. But cerealiously, the best recordings I've heard were FM recordings because those seem like the best of the soundboard and audience world. Two that I really really dig are 7-2-71 and 12-31-84 - both have wonderful wonderful sound (I seem to be repeating repeating myself) and kickass playing (the Dead tended to do that). Bill > -m > ------------------------------ From: joker4153@comcast.net Subject: Re: Watchya Listenin' To Lately? Date: 6 Oct 2005 16:32:49 -0700 Recently watched the DVD "Johnny Cash Live at Montreux" and it's gotten several replays. And though I haven't picked up my own copy yet, from a couple of listenings, I got to agree with kpnn that "The Funky, Fuzzy Sounds of Africa" is great stuff. Been listening to more alt. country, folksy stuff lately via KPIG-AM here in the SF Bay Area. Oh, and I downloaded four somewhat disperate versions of Goodbye Porkpie Hat (off of iTunes) for a mix CD. Jeff Beck, Joni Mitchell, Burt Jansch and Pentangle all covered it. I need to find a Mingus version. Larry ------------------------------ From: "Bill" Subject: Re: Best mixed show... Don't think the Colts -14 against the Niners is a good bet? The only thing slightly worrisome is the Niners can have really good games every so often. I think, if I'm not mistaken, they played the Pats in preseason and almost beat them. If it wasn't the Pats, it was some other good team. And they beat the Rams and should have beat the Cowboys though both of those teams are not in the Colts league (so to speak). Anyway thanks again for the good info.
