Hi = Kevin,

Here are the notes I wrote down = immediately after=20 attending the 10/23/73 concert.
I didn't make any attempt to put the = songs in=20 order.
I did note which songs were in which set. Noted by a "1", "2" = or "E"=20 for encore
I also noted which songs started and ended the respective = sets.=20 "F" for first and "L" for last.

I made some flubs as far as which = songs=20 were in set 1 or set 2. But, otherwis 109a e my list agrees with=20 DeadLists.

Beat It On Down The Line 1
The Other One 2
China = Cat=20 Sunflower>I Know You Rider 1
Casey Jones E   I also made = a note=20 "1/2" to indicate that the song had been interrupted.
Sugar Magnolia = 2=20 L
Brokedown Palace 1
One More Saturday Night E
Jack Straw = 1
Brown=20 Eyed Women 1
Ramble On Rose 1
Black Throated Wind 1
Mexicali = Blues=20 1
Me & My Uncle 1
Me & Bobby McGee 1
Sugaree 1
Deal=20 1
Half Step Mississippi Uptown Toodeloo 2 F
Row Jimmy 1
Weather Report Suite = 2
Promised=20 Land 1 F
El Paso 1
"Hope You Can See That It's True" 1 (They Love = Each=20 Other)
"Cry Cry Cry" 1 (Big River)
'Round & 'Round 1 = L
"Thank You For A Real Good Time" 1 = (Loose=20 Lucy)

I remember thinking, at the time, that I had too many "1st = set"=20 songs in my notes, but  I couldn't pin down which ones = belonged=20 in the 2nd set.
I also noted that the 1st set started = about 7:30=20 and lasted 1:45 The encore ended at 11:20 and with the 2nd set ran=20 1:40.
As far as Casey Jones & One More = Saturday Night=20 being encores or not, I made my notes shortly after the show ended and = I'm as=20 certain as I can be, after all these years, that they were indeed=20 encores.
And then there's the fight. There was one part of the incident that = you don't get from the recording. While the fight was still in = progress=20 Billy got up from his kit and grabbed one of the vocal mic stands and = gave the=20 security guy a tap on the head. Not so hard that it hurt him, = but hard=20 enough to get his attention. I think that's about the time the fight = stopped. I=20 don't remember what happened to the fan. Maybe he went back over the = rail. As=20 I've been writing this, it came back to me that they were selling = beer at=20 the arena (a first for me) and I think they were even allowing fans to = take beer=20 to their seats. That may have been a contributing factor...

If = you have=20 any questions, I'll be available at this e-mail address through next=20 Thursday.
