Finishing things ----------------- So I wrote a post on my gemlog that was more about the ways that I try to organize my life and responding to someone who had written about the experience of having their interests cycle every few weeks. This made me realize how much I've been missing org-mode, actually. So while I love handwriting for brainstorming and drafting, I think I've been hitting a point where I've been working on so many different things and so many different threads that even doing a properly indexed sequence of bullet journals just isn't enough. I feel like I'm at a point of having so much chaos even the method intended for busy people with debilitating ADHD has been failing me. So, yeah, I set up a pretty---for me at least---minimal org-mode setup that's going to let me keep track of things better. One of the big problems, of course, is that I used different computers and I need to sync things up. At the moment, I'm just using rsync between different machines, pulling from the one I was using last. Maybe I'll change it to a git repo if I really get worried about conflicts between machines but it's also not too hard to remember what was the last computer I was using, y'know? So, I don't know, I just want to actually finish more projects because I have so many in the air that I've started to thrash hard with the context switching. Going back to org mode for writing my classes and working on different projects will, hopefully, help the thrashing even just a little bit. Other than that, this has a been a strangely busy yet quiet week. It's AGDQ, or as I call it "holy week", but I've only been catching occasional runs. I'll probably do what I did last year and spread out the vods of runs over the next few months. Now if you'll excuse me I have coffeecake, courtesy of Tor, to eat and a class to finish writing.
