Beautiful rain

The term is going well. I mean, it's obviously still a lot of work,
but it's easier than last term for sure. I'm a lot steadier on my
feet. I'm feeling bolder in running my classes the way I want rather
than trying to make myself fit into someone else's curriculum.

We had a hell of an icestorm a little over a week ago, we kinda
couldn't even leave the apartment because all of pdx was an
icerink. But now the rains have come back and washed it away back to a
cool, wet, green.

The smell of evergreens is so pungent after the only scent was
ice. I've been walking to and from campus, the three mile walk being a
kind of meditation as I'm sipping coffee and watching all the
squirrels and crows.
