A long day out ============== Yesterday was maybe the first time I really did anything different in months, maybe closer to a year. We walked miles to a different part of town and then grabbed a drink at a bar with a spatious outside area so we didn't have to be near anyone. It was funny because it felt so different, so intimidating, after everything that happened with the omicron variant. It felt like so many people I know got sick during that wave but it's calmed back down to "only" a hundred people a day in my city, which isn't great and while I'm still terrified of what my fucked up immune system is going to do if I ever get covid, so it felt at least reasonably low enough that I could feel okay with sitting outside and grabbing a bite to eat and a little alcohol Our indoor mask mandates for the state are ending in just a few days. I'm desperately hoping that doesn't cause everything to spike again like every other time restrictions get relaxed. Wish us luck here in pdx.
