Been so tired

It's been a hard few weeks and I haven't really
written about it but one of my partners has been
sick, like really sick. It's not covid. It was,
weirdly, a bacterial infection that spread through
their face in ways that were just freaky.

Like it was sort of a sinus infection but it was
so strong that it started swelling their entire
face shut on one side and it was starting to
*move* through their face.

The pain was so horrific I was getting scared it
was becoming a bone infection but, no, our pcp
confirmed it's "just" a sinus/respiratory
infection and it hasn't moved into the bone. It's
just about as bad as a sinus infection can get
though.

Weeks of antibiotics to kill, prescription pain
meds so my partner can even sleep or eat, just
been really bad.

I can talk about it because I think they're
actually going to be okay now. We've got one more
appointment on monday to try and check and make
sure the infection is gone and that the residual
pain is just healing from how damaged everything
was, but she's pretty sure this will just be a
formality of double checking and that it should be
*gone* after this final course of antibiotics ends
in a few days.

I've been basically having to act as a nurse for
these weeks and I've had to drop most of my work
during it. Thankfully I had time off to burn and
my boss is understanding.
