For some years I  have been slightly involved with
the     ETHA     (Eastern     Townships     Hockey
Association). They run  road hockey leagues around
here, and maybe twice over  the years I was on one
of those tournament teams. And registered as sub a
bunch  of  times for  teams  that  needed one.  It
basically boils  down to  a well  organized pickup
games  at  tennis  courts, but  with  really  good
scorekeeping and  stats and all that.  Which makes
it seem like a bigger  deal than it is, but that's
kind  of cool.  The  guy who  runs  it even  posts
results and  stuff on the  inter net.

Because of the covid, I heard they're going to run
all-Olds games  this winter, which isn't  as wacky
as it might sound to some. Elfs in particular seem
really into  hockey, and some always  turned up to
watch and  even sub on  some games in the  past. I
have seen them play on their own, and some of them
are  getting  really  good  at  it.  I  never  saw
centaurs   play,  but   I  don't   see  why   they
couldn't. I don't know  about dwarfs, they're kind
of short,  but we'll see what  happens. It's going
to be fun to watch. Although I am slightly worried
that maybe the Olds will  take over the whole ETHA
from here  on out, and  kick out all  us homo-saps
for good.  Which would suck, although  it seems to
be the way things are turning.
